Clients often ask me, “What do we wear for our session?” Well, I’m here to help!
The most important thing to do, is to think about what time of the year your portraits will be taken. When the season changes so does our environment. Spring greens are bright and fresh while summer greens are rich and dark. Spring yields an array of soft colors while winter is a moody grey and brown. Fall colors are a spectacular combination of red, golds and oranges.
I knew that I wanted to do an updated what-to-wear guide this year, but I was unsure of which direction I should take. My friend Laura (an amazing photographer), shared with me this wonderful place of color, Design-Seed.
If you love color then you MUST visit their site! You can use their colorful inspirations for many projects. Wedding color coordination, home interior design, and wardrobe are just a few that come to mind.
Below are a few examples. See how I chose 3 or 4 colors from each profile and then mixed and matched? The colors don’t have to match exactly. The swatches just give you a base of where to start and how to visualize what colors compliment each other.
I hope these ideas will help guide you through your wardrobe selection. If you have any questions or comments you can post it below or send me a private message.
